First Football Game :) U of A vs. NAU

Drew's first home game was this past weekend and it was a blast!! We had a lot of family come down to to the game; it is so awesome that we have such supporting families! It was a bit of a learning experience as far as parking, tickets, and seating goes but now that we have that figured out, the rest of the games should be much easier. It was so cool to see Drew playing in that big stadium in front of all those people. I couldnt believe it was the same man that I've seen play in high school, and junior college, and now a University! I am so proud of him and all he's done to get to this point. He is the starting Tight End and works really hard every day to be the best player he can be. 

As for me, I am struggling with being a "football widow". It takes sooo much time away from our "us" time. I hardly even get to see him, especially with my work schedule. Its been hard but I know this is only the beginning so I need to get used to it and buck up!! I just miss him a lot but I know that its for the best...

He has a few big games coming up including Oklahoma State this week, then Stanford and Oregon coming up in the next few weekends! It is an exciting time of year and I love being able to spend it with our families. Here are a few pics from the weekend... :)

I ♥ MONROE!!

While Drew was gone to camp, I was able to go home and spend some time with family and friends!! It was so much fun, I had a blast!! Amanda picked me up from the airport and we spent the night together in Orem at her house. We went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse (yumm) and then relaxed and caught up on everything. It was so good to see her and Cruz. He has gotten so big!! The next day I stopped in Ephraim on my way home to Monroe and saw my friend Jaymie. It has been so long since I've seen her. We had a fun time. We went out to dinner at Olive Garden (yumm) and went to the mall. I dont think I've ever laughed so hard!! We have so much fun together. The next day I spent time in Monroe with my family. Toni and I went on a wheeler ride. I have missed the fun outdoors stuff while i've been down in Tucson. We also ate at Bullies (yumm). I got to catch up with Aubrey and finally meet Quinn! He is such a cutie, I don't think I ever put him down! Friday night, Amanda, Kaili, Toni, and I went to Wingers (yumm). It was so fun to hang out with the girls again! Saturday night was Jadie's reception and it was GORGEOUS!! It was great to see everyone...sadly I left on Sunday night. my trip went by way too fast but it was certainly filled with a lot of good food (yumm) and great friends/family. I even got to see my grandparents before I headed to the airport on my way home.
Football Season is coming up!! EEEK. Drew's first game is only a couple weeks away and I cant wait...we'll see a lot more of our families then. It will be awesome. We are so blessed with such amazing people in our lives. :)

Time to catch up!

Its been forever since I last blogged...I forget that I even have a blog! Not much has been going on with Drew and I. He finished up Spring Ball and had a few weeks off before summer training started. During that time he went home to Utah for about a week and enjoyed some time with family and friends...He has been busy all summer with classes and training. Football season is just around the corner and we can't wait!! As for me, I have just been working at the hotel and enjoying the sun on my days off. My sister Sydney moved down here in May for her summer internship at Raytheon. This is her third summer down here and it has helped me a lot to have someone down here that I can hang out with. We go work out at LA Fitness together every night and that has been a lot of fun.

My mom and Toni came down in June to visit for a while. We went to the zoo and went shopping....I remembered to take my camera (surprise!) and snapped a few photos! Toni came down again in July and spent a little over a week visiting. It was so much fun! A lot of time was spent at the pool and just relaxing, which is exactly what I needed. One night we went out to dinner and that was the only night I ended up taking pictures! I am a slacker when it comes to pictures. I will post what I have though!

Drew's first game is on September 3 against NAU (Northern Arizona). I am so excited!! Its gonna be a lot of fun. Maybe then I wont be so homesick because we'll be seeing our families a lot when they come down for the games! Drew is still looking to beat out the other tight end for the starting position....his toe still gives him some problems but he is training hard and working to heal his injury. Arizona football is so much bigger than anything we have ever experienced before so we are really looking forward to it. At the beginning of August he is going to be going away for team camp for a little over a week. They are going to an old Army base and will be sleeping in barracks and practicing a few times a day! I am so proud of drew and all his hard work. Without his scholarship,  I dont know what we'd do!

Although its been hard being away from our families and friends, being down in Tucson on our own has really strengthened our relationship. I feel so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man :) He really is my best friend!!

Easter Fun!

Easter weekend, my parents came down to spend some time with Drew and I. We had so much fun! It was nice to get to see them and spend some time together. We went mini golfing and to the Pima Space and Air Museum. We also played Rock Band (my dad LOVED it) haha even though he was awful at it. It was a fun time and I am so lucky to have a great family!
